When everything is available online, you will just need to customize your prints according to what you want, upload your artwork accordingly, and your order is ready after payment. Therefore, uploading the artwork has made the most important role in online printing. It decides the print quality, and will minimize the error and confusion between printers and designers.
In this article, here is what we think you should be aware of when uploading your file to Printoka.com. Please read on from below.
File Format
Table of Contents
We highly recommend that you are to submit a file that is saved in PDF format only. This is because PDF provides the best quality of printing as compared to others. If you wish to learn what are the minimal requirement of your PDF file, please check on the link for the article.
Other than PDF, we can also accept (but preferably not) JPEG and TIFF File formats. They do provide good quality print outcome but only if the file is converted under certain specifications. Usually, our experience finds that text and vector formats appears less convincing as compared to PDF. You are highly advised to set resolution at 600 dpi or more for JPEG files, and 300 dpi or more for TIFF files.
File Name
We do understand that there are people who doesn’t really care much on what are the File Names when they are saving them in their PC. However, for printers, it is a totally different situation, where we have lots and lots of Files, which could be named similarly such as New Folder (1) and etc. And that could be a mess if printers aren’t careful enough. Here are what we wish that our customers could understand about naming their files.
You should avoid Punctuation Marks (such as such as ! ? ( ) { } [ ] : | \ and etc), Symbols or General Typography (such as @ # % ^ and etc), and also Unicodes (such as Chinese, Korean, Japanese characters). However, hyphens and underscores could be an exception as properly using them may help in differentiating your files among the others. Here is an example of a good File Name: Business Card-Printoka_01.
File Transfer Methods
Printoka do accepts file uploading and transferring in a few methods as following. For normal sized files of 20MB File Size, you are able to just attach them online while you are preparing to place an order. Click on Upload Now, and then select the files from your PC, and yeah, its done. Where as Large Files of 20MB and above, we do accept WeTransfer uploading methods.
